About

Clique is a demonstrator of a privacy-enhanced Social Network Site that is being developed within the EU FP7 funded PrimeLife project.

Clique extends the Elgg open source SNS platform by providing advanced features to control who has access to content provided by its users. Clique provides its users with a flexible way of distinguishing different social groups which we call 'collections', such as family, close friends, remote friends, colleagues, soccer team members, etc. Any content disclosed in Clique can be associated with 'access control policies' determining who can access the content. This sounds complex, but in practice is not. Each user can specify her own default audience, her default collection, for instance, close friends. New content by default is accessible to this group. If the user wants to extend or limit this audience a simple interface allows them to do so.

Clique is developed and maintained by researchers of the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT) of Tilburg University in the Netherlands. You can address questions and suggestions to the developers by sending e-mail to clique@tilburguniversity.nl
